CHILDREN PROGRAMS

Classes for children ages 4 and up, are organized by age and skill level and are offered at convenient times throughout the week and on weekends. Our curriculum includes all the fun and exuberant drills that children love to do and initiates them into a healthy and active lifestyle.
Our philosophy promotes respect and discipline while learning a traditional art form with self-defense skills in a safe and fun environment. Your child will learn the following skills in our classroom such as respect, focus, coordination, discipline, concentration, and confidence, while learning self-defense skills in our safe, fun and positive environment. Many of our young students have achieved awards in competition locally, across the U.S.A. and internationally. And many have also had the fun and experience of performing for local events and televised productions.

Starting right from the Basic Introductory Program, our curriculum guides children step by step through the technical material and eases them into the training and developing their martial art & physical skills, and our system of belts and levels teaches them how to set goals and go about achieving them.
We have special training programs, seminars, and activities for students intent on attaining and advancing their Black Belt degree. Like a college prep program, the academy's Black Belt program provides these students with the full spectrum of training necessary to achieve a Black Belt degree. Our Black Belt Leadership Program has proven popular, and often helpful for teens applying for the competitive Universities.
Whether starting in our training program for children ages 4-7, or our Juniors classes, our young students learn far more than kicks and punches. Our training curriculum includes all the fun and exciting moves that kids love, and so efficiently gets them healthy and fit, and yet our School's teaching philosophy helps them realize that it's their newfound discipline, focus, and courage that's important.
ADULT PROGRAMS

From the beginning of our Basic Introductory Program, our curriculum guides students step by step through the technical material, easing them into the rigors of training, developing their skills, and helping them achieve their goals. The ongoing curriculum teaches our adult students effective and practical self-defense, and all the movements, intricacies, and applications of the many Kung fu techniques and forms.
Many of our adult students have little or no martial arts background before training at Shan Tung Kung-Fu yet soon they're developing skills they initially thought would be difficult. We also have many focused and intent teens, who have found in Kung Fu a unique, athletic and interesting challenge. Our students tell us time and time again, that there is no other work-out or sport that accomplishes so much in such an efficient way.

Following are the various training programs offered to meet our students' individual needs and goals:
Basic Orientation Program:
This program is the main course that most students begin with. Students learn the basicNorthern Eagle Claw style of Kung Fu or Tai Chi which includes the following: self-defense, breathing, stretching, callisthenics, philosophical and historical material. This program's emphasis is on learning the basic foundation of our system such as stances, blocks, punches, kicks, stretching, breathing, learning focus, practical self-defense applications, and on gaining increased health and fitness.
Leadership Black Belt Program:
This program is designed for our students who have set the goal of achieving the rank of Black Belt and higher in Northern Eagle Claw Kung-Fu. Emphasis is on mastering traditional Kung Fu and on gaining a wide variety of Martial Art knowledge. In this Black Belt program students will learn traditional empty hand forms, weapons, partner forms, "108 Locking Hand Techniques" and Lion Dance. Master Edwards, and his top instructors offer workshops and seminars to members of the Leadership Black Belt Program. These special classes provide students with insight and experience in many martial art concepts. These dedicated and advanced students will gain the technical ability and the diverse knowledge necessary to become a Black.

Tai Chi Program:
Tai Chi Chuan is one of the most popular and widely practiced internal martial arts practiced in the world today, due to its great health and relaxation benefits. Tai Chi Chuan forms are done very slowly to promote relaxation, increase circulation, better balance, and loosening the joints, which can help in protecting against arthritis. With the proper diet and daily practice of Tai Chi Chuan it can help prevent or reduce such stress related diseases such as high blood pressure and hearth disease.
